Melinda Clark, our Daycare manager, began working with dogs in 1994. She has managed kennels for the Columbia County Humane Society, Naperville Humane Society, and the City of Chicago Animal Care and Control. She has developed sharp observation skills in understanding canine behaviors and observing the interactions among groups of dogs. Her innate ability to understand and direct the dogs is what makes our daycare a harmonious, friendly and successful operation. Melinda also trains and trials her German Shepherds and Border Collies in Schutzhund, AKC/UKC Obedience, Conformation, Agility and Flyball and also plays guitar in her spare time. Trisha Vanatta - Trisha is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and started at Mad City Dog Training the summer of 2004. She grew up with a Shitzu, Patti Tzu. After losing Patti Tzu, Trisha has taken on the daycare dogs as her own. She has infinite patience and love for all the dogs. Trisha keeps the swimming pools full and cold during the summer, packs snowballs in the winters, and blows bubbles all year round. Trisha is in tune with all of the dogs, and take care to make sure they all stay warm, keep cool and have fun. While not at Mad City Dog Training, Trisha can be found working at the library or practicing for her black belt at the Dojo.
Jessica Melby - Jessica graduated from Edgewood College in 2000 with a degree in Art & Graphic Design. After taking an Agility class with her Boston Terrier, Bettie, Jessica decided it was time for a career change. In the fall of 2009, she will be starting the Veterinary Technician program at MATC. In her time at Mad City Dog Training it has become very clear that she made the right decision to become a Veterinary Technician and work in the animal care field. In addition to playing with Bettie, Jessica also enjoys painting and photography.
Natalie Hoeg - Natalie joined Mad City's Doggy Daycare in the summer of 2008. She has enjoyed the experience in dog obedience training and overall being part of the dog community. She volunteered at the Humane Society during high school for several years but never misses a chance at an opportunity to learn more. She is training her first dog, a Papillion named Deku, who frequently tags along at work. Natalie enjoys art of all kinds and if often found sketching and taking photos of the Daycare dogs. She also plays her ocarina for them. She believes every dog deserves a chance and should be treated equally.
